Alice in wonderland an interactive adventure
Here you will enjoy activities with
Alice and her Wonderland friends!
Lewis Carroll's two Alice Books, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
and Through the Looking-Glass, have been my favorites since I was
a child.
I developed this web site to share
my love of these books with others, especially hoping that it might
influence those who have not read the books to read them. I hope
you enjoy your visit!
I first read Alice in Wonderland
when I was eight years old. I clearly remember lying on the floor
poring over the wonderful illustrations by John Tenniel, and being
as lost in the story as Alice was when she fell down the rabbit
hole. I¡¯ve read it many times since then, and still find new and
wonderful things every time I do.
THE MAKING OF ALICE IN WONDERLAND
In Carroll's original (1862-1864)
manuscript for the story, Alice's Adventures Underground, which
he personally illustrated, Alice was not the little blonde girl
in a pinafore we have come to know from subsequent illustrations.
When Alice's Adventures Underground
gave way to the revised, extended version, which had been renamed
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, the artist chosen to illustrate
it was Sir John Tenniel (b. Feb. 28, 1820, London, Eng.--d. Feb.
25, 1914, London).
