Background
Lewis Carroll's story has the elements of text-based description of circumstance -although John Tunnel's illustration is fantastic- confrontation of distinctive characters, pun using similar pronunciation, concrete poet, wonderland that is called dream, reversion of the mirror world that is only possible in the mirror world etc.
I want to construct the environment where users can reinterpret Lewis Carroll's story, which has those elements that made his story impossible to be interpreted in the reign of Queen Victoria without media of dream and mirror, by adopting the form of interactive game.
Touch of paper, which one felt turning every page, shape of font and relation between contents and images in the classical literature can be defined as the multimedia of the past.
And such traditionally written fairy tales in kind has the narrative structure follow liner path.
It is either because narration has the method of verbal story or because linguistic structure follows type of liner way.
In the form of interactive game such traditional media are replaced with abstract meaningful object, protagonists that lead users, antagonists that interrupt user's movement to make the end of the story depend on how successful the user was in the game.
As Ernst H. J. Gombirch suggested, spectators get to the different conclusion in the way of interpreting the message implicated in the work although they see same picture and it will also demand them different imagination respectively.
That is to say, such process makes contemplator to fill up the hearts and heads of spectators with information.
The narrative, which uses platform of game, offers the element that makes users lead the story and experience different thing as well as its allow user should be act, while the traditional way was delivering text and images separately and demanded respective interpretation of reader.
In short I choose the medium, which has the form of game, as it inevitably requires acting and imagination of user to go to next stage.
In other words, I chose the form of game to let user participate actively and experience in the story, which was impossible in the traditional story, (like a player of 'Super Mario' game does), while the novel of Carroll expressed the developmental situation of a chess game with text and implicated pun.
And the movement of mouse and keyboard in the game can defined as input and the their movement can be defined as the process in the story with the form of game whereas turning pages can be defined as input and imagining the meaning of text process in traditional typed story.
The game-typed story more strongly demands the participation of user by setting such as making characters that help or interrupt the user, placing special object to go to next stage.

Game scene |
Each stage contains several metaphorical elements, which Lewis Carroll used in his story. (Such as pun and reversion in the mirror world used in the original work- symbols of the mirror world will be used in the game; ride meaningful transportation to go to next stage; eat biscuit to soothe thirsty). And this game has my new story, which consisted of new mixture of dialogues used in the original story.
And user becomes the leader of the story and advances the story. They can enjoy the story as much as they have forward in the game and advanced it. it will be programmed as user lead the story and go to next stage. If user fails to clear the stage, the game will be over and show the story how they have played in the game.
In short, although it's a ready-made story, user will experience different story according to how much he has progressed to next stage. And the text-based story, which user can see in the end of his game, presents how much does his story become different from the original of Carroll.

Stage one scene

It was when she met him for the first time. When she went up round stairs made with books, she stood along in somber space with a little satisfied smile-with smell of dust from humid books. She stood in abnormal space that was neither a library nor a storehouse where windows, library and sofa were made with books like a picture as being a part of that scene....
